MGW Glass
The global Vacuum Insulated Glass (VIG) market is currently undergoing a transformative shift as the construction industry prioritizes decarbonization and extreme thermal efficiency. Unlike traditional double or triple glazing, VIG utilizes a vacuum gap—effectively eliminating conductive and convective heat transfer. This technology is no longer a niche experimental product; it has become a vital component in the global push for Net-Zero Buildings.
In Europe and North America, stringent building codes like the EPBD (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) and California's Title 24 are driving developers to seek materials with U-values lower than 0.5 W/(m²·K). VIG meets these demands while maintaining a slim profile (often less than 10mm thick), making it the ultimate choice for both new modern skyscrapers and the retrofitting of historic heritage buildings where thick window frames are not an option.
VIG with Safety Tempered Construction
Global architectural firms are moving away from heavy triple-glazing curtain walls to lightweight VIG systems, reducing the structural load on building foundations and saving millions in steel costs.
The rise of the "Passive House" standard in Germany, the UK, and Scandinavia has created a massive demand for VIG, which provides the necessary R-value without the bulk of traditional IGUs.
Cities like London, Paris, and New York are upgrading old windows. VIG allows for modern thermal performance without changing the aesthetic integrity of historical thin-frame windows.
A major trend is the combination of VIG with Smart Tinting (Electrochromic) or BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics). By combining the thermal shield of vacuum glass with energy-generating solar layers, buildings can transition from energy consumers to energy producers.
As a leading Chinese exporter, we have seen a 40% increase in inquiries specifically for Hybrid VIG—a combination of VIG with an additional glass pane and argon-filled space to reach U-values as low as 0.3 W/(m²·K), virtually the peak of current glass physics.

Deep-processed architectural glass supplier with CE, ISO, SGCC certifications and over 30 years of production experience.
The core of VIG's effectiveness lies in the maintenance of a high-vacuum state (usually 10^-2 Pa or less) between two glass panes. To achieve this at an industrial scale, MGW Glass utilizes Flexible Edge Sealing Technology. This innovation addresses the thermal expansion differences between the inner and outer glass layers, preventing the glass from bowing or losing its vacuum over its 20+ year lifespan.
Furthermore, our VIG products utilize Micro-pillars—tiny, nearly invisible support spacers that keep the glass from collapsing under atmospheric pressure. Through advanced CAD layout, we optimize these pillars to be invisible to the naked eye while ensuring structural integrity.
Our factory utilizes energy-efficient tempering furnaces and water recycling systems, aligning our production with the green goals our glass products help achieve.
Unlike many competitors who only offer standard sizes, we provide Bespoke Cutting and customization for oversized panels up to 1500mm x 2500mm.
All MGW VIG units are fully toughened, making them up to 5 times stronger than standard float glass VIG, ensuring safety in overhead and floor-to-ceiling applications.
