Product Overview
Description

U-profile glass originates from Austria and has been produced for over 35 years in Germany. As a premier material for large-scale building projects, U-profile glass is applied extensively across Europe and America. Its adoption in China began in the 1990s, becoming a mainstay in modern international-based design trends.

This casting glass is formed in computer-controlled smelting furnaces, ensuring excellent quality and precision. Its high mechanical strength makes it suitable for high-rise buildings, providing superior lighting while eliminating the need for extra vertical and horizontal underpinning. Known for heat insulation, sound protection, and noise reduction, it is an environment-friendly and economical architectural solution.

Tempering Process

Our custom tempering ovens are designed specifically for three-dimensional channel glass up to 20' long. Tempered channel glass undergoes heat treatment to raise compression to 10,000 psi or greater, making it 3 to 4 times stronger than annealed glass.

Safety is paramount: tempered glass is recognized by its "dicing" break pattern—small, harmless fragments without jagged edges, markedly reducing the likelihood of injury.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is U-profile glass?
U-profile glass is a specialized casting glass with a unique U-shaped structure. It is designed for large-scale architectural projects, offering a blend of high mechanical strength and aesthetic versatility.
Is U-profile glass suitable for high-rise buildings?
Yes. Due to its superior mechanical strength and the ability to be tempered up to 10,000 psi, it can be safely installed in high-rise structures without the need for extensive additional supports.
What are the thermal and acoustic properties?
U-profile glass provides excellent heat insulation and preservation. It also serves as an effective sound barrier, offering significant noise protection for urban environments.
Can I request a customized size or pattern?
Absolutely. We offer customized sizes and a wide range of surface patterns, including Sandblasted, Pear-grain, Ice, and various color-coated options to meet specific design requirements.
How safe is the glass if it breaks?
Our tempered glass uses a "dicing" pattern upon impact. It breaks into small, relatively harmless fragments instead of large sharp shards, significantly reducing the risk of injury.
What colors and finishes are available?
We offer clear, ultra-clear (low iron), tinted blue, and a full range of ceramic fritted or color-coated options based on RAL or Paton color standards.
