The tempering process for channel glass up to 20' long utilizes specialized custom tempering ovens designed exclusively for three-dimensional channel glass. This procedure ensures dimensionally consistent glass high in strength.
Tempered U channel glass undergoes a secondary heat treatment to raise compression to 10,000 psi or greater. It is three to five times stronger than annealed glass and is characterized by its safety "dicing" break pattern, which reduces the likelihood of injury.
Heated at 650 degrees Celsius onto the inside face of the channel, providing a colorfast, durable, and scratch-resistant finish. Colors are available according to RAL or Pantone systems.
Available in normal clear, tinted blue, tinted green, low iron, and ultra-clear options. We specialize in customized sizes and patterns to meet specific architectural requirements.
