Product Structure

The structure of cadmium telluride thin-film solar cells consists of five essential layers: glass substrate, transparent conductive oxide layer (TCO), cadmium sulfide (CdS) window layer, cadmium telluride (CdTe) absorption layer, and the back contact/electrode layer.

Product Features
(1) Excellent Weak Light Performance: CdTe is a direct bandgap material. Its luminous effect in conditions like early morning, evening, snow, or haze is significantly superior to crystalline silicon cells.
(2) Low Temperature Coefficient: Stable performance at high temperatures. The temperature coefficient is about half that of crystalline silicon cells, allowing for more power generation in hot environments.
(3) High Conversion Efficiency: With a theoretical efficiency potential of 28-29%, it absorbs over 90% of visible light with a thickness of only 1μm.
(4) Cost Competitiveness: Minimal raw material usage and a simplified manufacturing process facilitate large-scale, low-cost production.
(5) Power Generation Stability: No light-induced degradation characteristics. Performance remains consistent even in humid climates.
