Tempered (or Toughened) glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal treatments (high temperatures up to 720°C) or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. The process creates balanced internal stresses, giving the glass its superior strength. When broken, it shatters into small fragments instead of sharp shards, significantly reducing the risk of severe injury. It is widely used in vehicle windows, glass doors, tables, diving masks, and cookware.
Tempered glass features excellent heat stability, capable of enduring high temperature differences ranging from 150~200°C.
It is 3 to 5 times stronger than standard glass and offers exceptional curve resistance.
Designed to shatter into small, blunt fragments rather than sharp pieces, ensuring human safety upon breakage.
