The tempering process for channel glass up to 20' long is conducted in custom-designed ovens exclusively for three-dimensional channel glass. This precision machinery ensures dimensionally consistent glass production. Tempered U channel glass is annealed glass that undergoes a second heat treatment to raise compression to 10,000 psi or greater. This makes it three to five times stronger than standard channel glass.
Safety Performance: Recognized by its break pattern—relatively small, harmless fragments (dicing). This markedly reduces the likelihood of injury as there are no jagged edges or large, sharp shards.
