The structure of cadmium telluride thin-film solar cells consists of five layers: glass substrate, transparent conductive oxide layer (TCO layer), cadmium sulfide (CdS) window layer, cadmium telluride (CdTe) absorption layer, back contact layer, and back electrode.
CdTe is a direct bandgap material with excellent absorption of the entire spectrum. Performance in weak light conditions (early morning, evening, snow, haze) is significantly better than crystalline silicon cells.
Performance remains stable at high temperatures. The temperature coefficient is about -0.21~0.25%/ºC, roughly half that of crystalline silicon, resulting in higher power generation in hot environments.
With a 1.47eV bandgap width, it absorbs over 90% of visible light with only 1μm thickness. Theoretical efficiency reaches 28-29%.
Thin absorption layers require less raw material. Power output does not decrease in humid climates and does not suffer from light-induced degradation characteristics common in crystalline silicon.
We are a new energy and advanced materials enterprise specializing in the R&D and production of cadmium telluride (CdTe) and perovskite thin-film solar cells. Our focus includes BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics) and photovoltaic-powered consumer electronics.
Our applications span centralized systems, urban renewal projects, renewable energy vehicles, and satellite antenna systems. We prioritize large-area thin-film technology with customizable dimensions and transparency for seamless curtain wall integration.
